Who we are

Kulturadar (kulturadar.com) is an interactive map of events in Zagreb. For any question about this policy or your data, write to kulturadar.zagreb@gmail.com.

The "Interested" button and the cookie kr_vid

This site uses one functional cookie, kr_vid, to count interest in events (the "Interested" button). It contains a random identifier that is not linked to your name, e-mail or any account, it is set only for this purpose, it expires after 12 months, and it is sent only to kulturadar.com.

Your IP address is not stored as such. To protect the counter from abuse (for example, one person clicking hundreds of times), only a one-way hash of the IP address, combined with a secret value that changes every day, is stored. This hash cannot be turned back into your IP address and cannot be linked across days. The cookie identifier is likewise stored only in hashed form.

This data is used for nothing except counting interest and preventing abuse. It is not used for advertising or profiling and is not shared with third parties.

You can delete the cookie in your browser at any time. The button then lets you vote again, which is a known limit of an anonymous system.

Language preference

Your chosen language (HR or EN) is remembered in your browser (local storage, key kr_lang). It never leaves your device.

Location

If you use "Near Me" or the location button, your device position is used only in your browser to show places close to you. It is not sent to or stored on our server.

Analytics

With your consent we use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to measure how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). It is not loaded and sets no cookies until you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. It then sets its own cookies and Google processes the data under its own privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time: cookie settings.

Other services your browser contacts

To work, the page loads event data from Google Sheets (docs.google.com) and the current weather from Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com). Our information pages for venues, theatres, festivals and nightclubs also load fonts from Google Fonts. These providers receive your IP address as part of the request, as with any website.

Links to event organisers, Instagram and other external sites are governed by those sites' own policies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to the supervisory authority: the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP, azop.hr). Because the data above is stored only as hashes, we usually cannot identify which entry is yours; if you need help, write to the address above.

Changes

We may update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
